Eagles And Storms

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm. When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us.

We can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

The Duck & the Devil

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner.

As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved! In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch the next day Grandma said, 'Sally, let's wash the dishes' But Sally said, 'Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen.' Then she whispered to him, 'Remember the duck?' So Johnny did the dishes.

Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, 'I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper.' Sally just smiled and said, 'Well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help' She whispered again, 'Remember the duck?' So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several day of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's; he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck. Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said, 'Sweetheart, I know.

You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.' Thought for the day and every day thereafter?

Whatever is in your past, whatever you have done... And the devil keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.) ..whatever it is...You need to know that God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing. He has seen your whole life.

He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you.The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness; He not only forgives you, but He forgets.

It is by God's grace and mercy that we are saved. Go ahead and make the difference in someone's life today.

Always remember: God is at the window! When Jesus died on the cross; he was thinking of you!

Enjoy the holiday.

Cheers!!

Random Thoughts

Did you know that silent and listen are spelt in the same letters?

Well then, always think all you say but don’t always say all you think

Because your thoughts are yours only

But the words you speak can never be withdrawn from the minds of those who heard it,

It becomes theirs also.

Always remember that no one can ask you to repeat your thoughts

But people can always ask you to repeat your words.

So always think all you say and don’t always say what you think

Have a great day

5 Minutes Management Training

Lesson 1:

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. Then she opens the door, there stands Bob,the next-door neighbour.

Before she says a word, Bob says,'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.'After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob,after a few seconds,Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks,'Who was that?''It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies.'Great,'the husband says,'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?

'Moral of the story:

If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2:

A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.The priest nearly had an accident.

After controlling the car,he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?

'The priest removed his hand. But,changing gears,he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said,'Father, remember Psalm 129?

'The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.'Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129.It said,'Go forth and seek, further up,you will find glory.

'Moral of the story:

If you are not well informed in your job,you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3:

A sales rep,an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out.

The Genie says,'I'll give each of you just one wish.''Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.

' Puff! She's gone.'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep.'I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse,an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.

'Puff! He's gone.'OK, you're up,'the Genie says to the manager.

The manager says,'I want those two back in the office after lunch.'

Moral of the story:

Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him,'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?

'The eagle answered:'Sure, why not.'So,the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.

All of a sudden,a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5

A turkey was chatting with a bull.'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey,'but I haven't got the energy.

''Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?'replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.

'The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung,he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:

Bull Sh*t might get you to the top,but it won't keep you there..

Lesson 6

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there,a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung,he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:

(1) Not everyone who sh*ts on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh*t is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep sh*t,it's best to keep your mouth shut!
(4) Not everyone loves to see you happy.

Do You Want To Be Happy?

Then what are you waiting for?

Most people are waiting for something -- something "special" that will make their life great, so they can be happy.

Ask yourself: have others had this, and are they all happy? No, they're not, and it won't give you lasting happiness, either.

Happiness is not determined by external circumstances, but by internal circumstances.

Everyone chooses how happy they are by what they choose to think about.

Your attitude is determined by your perspective, which is determined by what you think about -- your focus. You choose your focus, so ultimately, you are the one who chooses whether to be happy, or not.

Perspective is what the Beatitudes (Matthew 5) are about.
Seeing a bigger picture than just this one small moment of time. (The Beatitudes are where Jesus explained how some are blessed, or happy -- even in difficult situations.)

(The word we translate as "happy" in the New Testament is usually translated as "blessed.")

You won't get happiness by chasing what the world has to offer. It has already been tried and found wanting.

And, you will never be happy as long as you are self-centered. A focus on self is guaranteed to prevent happiness.

Right after Jesus performed the menial task of washing his disciple's feet -- akin to cleaning toilets today -- He told them:

JOHN 13:15, 17
15 I did this as an example for you. So you should do as I have done for you.
17 If you know these things, you will be happy if you do them.

You will be happy if you help others. If you take your focus off yourself. That's what Jesus taught.
So you must choose to focus on God and be thankful and happy.
Stay Blessed.

Faithfulness Begins With Gratefulness

“His Lord said to him ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'”
Matthew 25 vs. 23 (NKJV)

Faithfulness requires you to first be grateful.
You cannot be faithful over something for which you are not grateful.

In marriage, you cannot be faithful to your spouse if you are not grateful that God has brought that person into your life.

Similarly, you cannot serve faithfully in your job or business if you are not grateful to have been given custody of it.
To be grateful for something requires you to appreciate its value.

The reason why the servants who were given custody of 10 and five talents respectively traded with what they had was that they recognised and appreciated the value of what their master had entrusted them with.

On the other hand, the third servant who had been given one talent chose to bury it and was called a lazy person by his master.

He was not grateful that his master had seen fit to entrust him with one talent and because he did not appreciate the talent, he lost all motivation to trade with it and that's where the laziness set in.

As you start out today, God has given you 24 golden nuggets called hours.

You must start out by first being grateful for this privilege because as long as you have life, there is always hope.

Do not let any challenge you currently face have the effect of causing you to fail to appreciate the value of this day.

Regardless how enormous the challenge you face might be, recognise that the graveyard nearest to you is filled with hundreds or even thousands of people who would gladly trade places with you even if it means taking on your challenge too.

You must also learn not to wait till you have had some enormous breakthrough first before you can be grateful.

Nothing you lack means anything if you have it but don't have the gift of life.

Before you can be faithful with this latest batch of 24 hours that God has blessed you with, first be grateful that you have them and that's the key to being faithful in your use of them.

For after all, if you are not faithful over this one day, why should God entrust you with many more?

Have a great day
